2022 Snowshoe Adventures

We have 2 snowshoe adventures planned! Anyone is welcome to join. Appropriate for families and adults alike. You do not need to be a resident of the Township of McNab/Braeside to participate.

Our first adventure is planned for Sunday, February 20 at 1 p.m. at Alexander Stewart Provincial Park. This is located on Russett Drive where the road changes into Mill Ridge Rd and Maple Bend Rd (see map on Facebook page linked below). Our guide, Andy Kalnins will take us on our snowshoe adventure. We will be looking for signs of woodpeckers including many trees with holes in their trunks and branches made by these beautiful birds. A fun woodpecker scavenger hunt is planned throughout the trails for children and those young at heart.

Our second adventure is an Equinox Evening Snowshoe on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 7 p.m. at the Murray Yantha Community Centre (MYCC) parking lot. We will be viewing the full moon know as the “Worm Moon” while we go for our guided snowshoe on the new Russett Trail with guide, Andy Kalnins.
Address: 2473 Russett Drive.

If you need to reserve snowshoes for either of these events please contact Janyne.

Covid-19 protocols: Masks are not mandatory while we are outside, however it is recommended you wear a mask if you are closer than 6 feet apart from those outside of your household.
