PARKING PASS:
Parking passes are required at all Township Boat Launches from May 1 - October 31 any time you are towing a trailer.
Boat launches are monitored on a daily basis by the Municipal Law Enforcement Officer. A ticket with a fine will be issued to those not in compliance with Township of Mcnab/Braeside By-Law 2022-38.
Permit is to be hung from rearview mirror so it is clearly visible.

→Why can't the Township remove rocks or dredge whenever needed?
The Township maintains its boat launches, docks, beaches, and surrounding municipal property, but it does not generally own or manage the waterways themselves. Any work below the waterline, such as dredging or removing rocks, requires approvals from provincial and/or federal agencies to protect fish habitat, water quality, aquatic ecosystems, and safe navigation. These approvals often restrict when the work can take place, which is why the Township cannot perform in-water work whenever it is requested.
→What should I do if I notice damage to the dock, launch, or parking lot?
If you notice damage to a Township-owned dock, boat launch, parking lot, or other related infrastructure, please report it to the Township as soon as possible. Include the location, a description of the issue, and photos if available. This helps staff assess the situation, prioritize repairs, and address any potential safety concerns. If the damage poses an immediate risk to public safety, please indicate this when reporting it.
→How can I prevent the spread of invasive species?
You can help protect our lakes and rivers by following the Clean, Drain, Dry method every time you move your watercraft between waterways. Never release bait, aquarium species, or aquatic plants into lakes or rivers. These simple steps help prevent the spread of invasive species and protect the health of our local waterways.
→Can I swim at the boat launch?
Boat launches are intended for the launching and retrieval of watercraft and are often busy with vehicle and boat traffic. For your safety and the safety of others, swimming is discouraged at boat launches. If you're looking to enjoy the water, please use one of the Township's designated public swimming beaches, where swimming areas are intended for recreational use.
→Can I fish from the boat launch?
Township boat launches are intended primarily for launching and retrieving watercraft. To help ensure everyone's safety and allow boaters to access the water efficiently, please avoid fishing in a way that obstructs the launch, dock, or navigation area. Be courteous to other users and follow all applicable provincial fishing regulations.
→Can I set-Up a BBQ at the launch?
No. BBQs and other open-flame cooking devices are not permitted on any Township owned properties.
→Can I camp or stay overnight at the boat launch?
No. Overnight camping and staying overnight at Township boat launches are not permitted. Boat launches are intended for public access to the water and are not designated camping or overnight parking areas.
→Are washrooms available?
Yes. Portable washrooms are available at all Township boat launches, with the exception of Burnstown Beach. At Burnstown Beach, permanent washroom facilities are available near the beach for public use during the operating season.
