The Tax Collector has no authority to waive penalty or interest for any reason.
A PENALTY OF 1¼% per month will be added to any outstanding amount on the 1st day of each month until paid. Failure to receive a Tax Bill does not relieve the Taxpayer from payment of Taxes or Penalty. If a property has changed ownership, please return the Tax Bill to the Township Office.
Payments by Mail - Remove the stub from your tax notice, attach it to your cheque and mail it to the Township of McNab/Braeside, 2473 Russett Drive, Arnprior, Ontario, K7S 3G8. and include any changes or corrections to addresses. When mailing a remittance, the taxpayer assumes the responsibility for late arrival of payment to the office. The date you mail your remittance does not constitute payment. Failure to receive payment in the tax office on/by the due date will result in penalty charges. If payment is made by mail or after hours and you require a receipt, please include the complete bill with your cheque. The bill will be receipted and returned to you by mail.
Payments by Bank - Taxes are payable at the Bank of Nova Scotia in Arnprior before the due date only. The delay in bank processing or the use of Automated Teller may result in late payment charges, as well as payment made to a Bank other than the Bank of Nova Scotia, Arnprior, for which the ratepayer will assume responsibility. Payment must be made in Canadian funds. If US funds are received the exchange rate will be calculated by the bank using the date of deposit.
Internet & Telephone Banking with the following banks - CIBC, Bank of Montreal, Royal Bank, TD Canada Trust, and Bank of Nova Scotia. Payments received by the bank and transmitted to the Township Office will be posted as the date the office has received the payment. Payments made after 4:00 p.m. or anytime on Saturday, Sunday or a holiday will be posted the next business day following the transaction. Failure to receive payment in the tax office on/by the due date will result in penalty charges.
In Person - The office is located at 2473 Russett Dr. and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday. Wednesday-Friday, and from 8:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Please bring the complete tax bill so that the cashier can stamp the bill paid.
After hours - A mail slot located at the front door of the Township Office is available to receive your tax payments at any time.
Post dated cheques - are accepted any time at the Township Office.
A fee will be charged each time a cheque is returned from a bank or other financial institution due to insufficient funds. This charge is billed to offset costs for processing a returned cheque.
Change of Address must be submitted to the office in writing. Download Change of Address form. If you do not receive a property tax bill, please inform the office at once.
