Ontario Four-Laning Highway 17

Official Press Release from MPP John Yakabuski

Following the exciting announcement with regards to the construction of 4 lanes on Highway 17 from Arnprior to just west of Bruce Street in Renfrew, which is scheduled to start in the next 2-3 years and be completed in 10 years, Mayor Peckett would like to extend his gratitude on behalf of the Township:

Premier Ford along with our MPP Minister John Yakabuski promised residents that, if elected, they would begin the process to extend the four lanes ASAP. They have kept that promise today. THANK YOU.

MANY THANKS to Warden Jennifer Murphy, the Highwy 417 ad hoc committee chaired by Peter Emon and County staff for working with the Provincial Government to make this happen.

The expansion of the 417 will not only help Renfrew County economically it will also benefit Northern Ontario and beyond.

Anyone using Highway 17 knows the traffic volume makes for a stressful journey. The planned clover leaf at Calabogie Road and Highway 17 intersection in my Township goes a long way in reducing that level.

On behalf of the people of the Township of McNab/Braeside THANK YOU ALL.

Tom Peckett
Mayor
Township of McNab/Braeside
