Fire protection in the Township is provided by 3 fire stations, 7 fire vehicles and approximately 40 volunteers.  In addition to this there are mutual aid agreements in place with fire departments in Renfrew County and the North end of Lanark County.  The Fire Department covers an area of 100 square miles and provides a range of services for 7,000 residents which include fire prevention and  public education.

The Roads Department is responsible for the maintenance of 101 kilometres of paved roads and 99 kilometers of unpaved roads in the Township. 

The Township’s policing is provided by the Renfrew detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police.
